WE CAN ORDER BOOKS FOR YOU!

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you buy books?

We do not, but we do offer credit, as well as take donations.

What is store credit?

Store credit reduces your out-of-pocket cost. It is not a gift certificate or exchange. Store credit pays a percentage of your purchase, and you pay the rest. Store credit may be applied to the purchase of used books and may not be used for new books, sale books, vendor products or items marked “Arnold Schofield” on the price tag.

How do I get store credit?

We offer store credit in exchange for books in good condition. Credit is up to 20% of the price at which we expect to sell a book. For example, if we price a book at $5, you would get up to $1 of store credit. The amount of credit offered for each item depends on its condition, type, customer demand, and our current inventory needs.

We will not give credit for books that are damaged, moldy, discolored, heavily worn, or have strong odors and may refuse to accept them. We may also decline books that are overstocked or unlikely to sell. If you would like any unaccepted books returned to you, please let us know when dropping off your items.

Books are processed in the order received. We will contact you when processing is complete to let you know how much store credit you have received.

How can I use store credit?

At checkout, up to half of the used book total may be paid using store credit, excluding sales tax. For example:

Price of used book: $6.00

Less 50% in store credit: $3.00

Your cost: $3.00 plus sales tax

Store credit is non-transferable, has no cash value, and cannot be exchanged for cash.

We would appreciate advance notice if you plan to bring more than one box of books because we often have limited storage space. Contact us at 620-670-2752.

Are the Gift Certificates only for books?

No, the gift certificate is used like cash and can be applied toward the purchase of any item in the store.
